Cynthia A. King graduated with university and college honors from Carnegie Mellon University with dual degrees in Professional and Creative Writing, and a minor in Political Science. She worked as a paralegal before she decided to attend law school to study family law. In 1999, she earned her J.D. from William and Mary Law School where she was a member of the Law Review.
Cynthia A. King has always focused on family law, specializing in custody, visitation, relocation, support, divorce, and equitable distribution issues. She started her career with a boutique firm in Tysons Corner. She then worked with firms in Hampton Roads before establishing a solo practice in Virginia Beach which she maintained for a dozen years. After moving to Richmond in 2022, she practiced family law with the local branch of a multistate firm. She met Rob during a settlement conference where they helped their respective clients reach an agreement. After the case closed, she joined Rob’s team in January, 2024.
Cynthia A. King likes the creative problem solving which is the core of family law. She helps clients define their goals, works for an amicable resolution of issues that can be agreed, and effectively argues in court about those that cannot. She is also a certified guardian ad litem for children, and Virginia Business named her as a Legal Elite in the Family Law/Domestic Relations category.
Outside of the office, she enjoys music, cantors, roots for the New York Rangers, and bakes truly exceptional pie.
